Rev. Dcn. Michael, I enjoyed your sermon, especially the part where you spoke to the youth about “scary” dreams.
Thank you, Dcn Michael, for your sermon and reminding us that we all have experiences with fear. Surrendering our fears, big and small, to God is a very powerful witness to others, sometimes without us even knowing it.
I really love how the sermon served as such an excellent intro to week one of the small group sessions. The image of God being a patient and understanding Father to us just as our parents were understanding of our fears and scary dreams. Our fears are acknowledged and He waits for us to gain maturity and understanding as He supports us along the path.
Dcn Michael,I really enjoyed your sermon to launch our Lenten Study “Fearless”, with the illustration of Charlie Brown and Lucy. I follow Peanuts Classics every day and Charlie Brown doesn’t seem to know what to do with his fear. I feel so sorry for him because he could confront some of his fears with being proactive.
I think when Jesus was sleeping through the storm it showed us how to take a deep breath and calm ourselves, so we could act rather than panic. The disciples perhaps would have remembered how Jesus would not have let them come to harm if they showed some faith and trust.
